Oh, how I love the time at home. A time to get caught up on all my little piles, laundry, cleaning, organizing, etc. I just updated my classroom web page with lots of pictures. Let the shopping begin. Okay so most people started weeks ago but I love to shop so get out there and help our economy. What a busy week we had. Reading Reading and more Reading, Wow! We have also been getting ready for our Kindness Assembly. Our first graders have been working on showing kindness for the last month and on Friday we presented to the whole school.
With kids stationed at all of the doors, they passed out little notes of kindness to everyone that came to our assembly. Ms. Hemingway reminded us about what it means to be kind. She helped the audience to remember to bring in canned goods all next week for the county's Operation Happiness. She told the kids that we each have an imaginary bucket inside each of us and that it is our job to fill other's bucket with kindness.
Next we sang our kindness song (Ms. Hemingway created). We decided to have some fun and sang some Christmas songs as well. I think everyone had a great time. The last part of our program was our Kindness Commercial. It's only about 2 1/2 minutes but it gets the message across. We had fun watching ourselves.
